The project
This photographic documentation project echoes the major contemporary issues of forest preservation, climate justice and the sovereignty of indigenous peoples.
It features black and white and color images taken in different regions of the Amazon by French photographer Antoine Olivier and Brazilian photographer J.L.Bulcão.
An exchange of glances that reveals the faces of those who live sustainably, ensuring not only their own subsistence, but also the survival of the forest itself: the seringueiros of Seringal Cachoeira (Chico Mendes's homeland), the guarana from the Satere Mawé, the acai pickers of Belém and its surroundings, and the babaçu nut pickers of Tocantins and Maranhão.
